Amazing! Crop circles are not created by ET, not by artistic humans, and not even by hummingbirds, at least according to a new theory. Crop circles are created by Physics. A study in Physics World points to the source of the crop circles as earthbound lasers, microwaves and GPS signals.

Crop circles have been with us for ages. Formations in fields have been documented more than 10,000 times in the late 20th century. They have been credited to everything from paranormal activity to human hijinks to the weather. Further fueling the mystery is that the crop circles are done in secret, usually in the dark–and often by pranksters who want to make it seem like ETs were at work. It wasn’t until 1991 that the first jokesters admitted to having created at least some of the crop circles as a UFO hoax. What’s confounded scientists is trying to explain just how the art is done without any marks left by the makers, and everything done in one night.

crop_circles2This question led researcher Richard Taylor of the University of Oregon to rule out at least some traditional explanations of the tools involved in creating the circles. Taylor contends that in the modern age, planks and ropes (to flatten plants) and even bar stools to jump from one area to another undetected, are just too bulky to produce the intricate designs we have seen today.

Taylor argues that the new era of crop circles are created using gadgets of today like GPS monitors and magnetrons to cause the crops to fall over in the very accurate shapes.

Can Taylor's theory be proven? Not really, at least not until some crop artists step forward and reveal the tools of the trade.

Personally, I like to believe that they are made by beings not of this Earth, but that can be a little farfetched. I remember seeing a video from a few years ago that showed an orb of sorts flying over a field and the crops seeming to fall over where it flew. Check it out:

If these videos are true, it gives me hope that crop circles are ET created. Since the jury is still out on how they are created, lets see if we can understand why they are created. There are just as many theories about why they are created as there are for how they are created.

Some people believe that crop circles are formed to teach mankind about the universe. That they are a teaching tool, or puzzle, from a higher being that was sent to us to help enlighten us. A way for us to open our minds and prepare us for great events that are yet to come. Personally, I don't subscribe to this theory.

crop_circle_1One of my favorite theories on crop circles is not so much the shape of the circle, but rather the crops that are harvested from the area. One person tried to educate me on the 'Supercrops' that are grown where crop circles are formed. This theory goes so far as to include a government conspiracy. When crop circles are found in the United States, the government takes the land from the farmer. The government then harvests the crops from the area and uses the food to feed a group of super soldiers. It is said that the energy in the crops heightens the human body. I have been trying to test this theory by seeing if I can purchase crops from a known crop circle, but I have had no luck. Apparently the government beats me to them every time.

The last theory I wanted to discus is that the crop circle holds healing energy. Imagine that the earth is surrounded by a grid of energy. This grid is what is used to place by ETs or whoever to place the crop circles in certain areas of the Earth. These areas are claimed by some people to hold healing energy. They are sanctuaries in the energy field where people can go and feel better. I want to test this theory the next time I get the swine flu. I want to camp in the middle of the crop circle to see if I miraculously get better.

One thing I can say for fact is that crop circles are an anomaly.  Regardless of who or what created them, some of them are very beautiful. I would love to hear your opinions on the crop circle phenomenon.
