The show features reality-TV show veteran Andy Hillstrand of "Deadliest Catch," who claims to have seen "a big, long white thing moving in the water. We chased it for about 20 minutes. Spray came out of its head. It was definitely not a shark … I've never seen anything like it before." Other witnesses claim this creature has a horse or sheep like head with a long snout and what appears to be two horns on the top. Other claims that it has a long neck and humps on its back, similar to the reports of the Loch Ness monster.
Paul LeBlond, former head of the Department of Earth and Ocean Sciences at the University of British Columbia, feels the video, while grainy, is genuine. He goes on to say he believes the video is of a mammal or reptile due to the plain that it is swimming. It seems to be moving up and down in a verticle plain, unlike a fish which moves side to side in a horizontal plane.
After watching the video myself, I can't say that it isn't a video of a known creature. One thing is for sure, with all the publicity being made about it, there will be many people at the water with video cameras now trying to be the first to get a clear picture of the creature. When that happens, I am sure we will have proof that it was either a whale, seal, turtle, or something greater, like a Cadborosaurus. Personally, I hope it is the latter.
