A school in Pune, India has shut its doors until Monday following an incident in which a boy claimed to have seen a ghost emerging from the blackboard. At the Lady Halima Begum Urdu Primary School panicked students fled the building after the sighting.
Teacher Parvika Khan was teaching an Urdu on the 7th March and asked the boy to read from the blackboard. The teacher has described how the child looked at the board, claimed it was blank and ran away saying he’d seen an “egg-shaped ghost”.
Rashid Khan, chairman of the Western Maharashtra Education Trust who run the school, refuses to believe the boy. He’s quoted in reports as saying: "It is a conspiracy to defame the school by someone who must have prompted the boy in order to create a scare. We have lodged a police complaint asking for an inquiry into the matter."
It’s hoped that the children will soon calm down and lessons can commence without any ghostly interruptions.
