Paranormal Roadtrip: My Trip to Haunted Fremantle Prison in Australia

On my vacation to Australia last month I decided to take in some of the tourist attractions--especially the weird, wild and 'paranormal' ones. My first stop was to Fremantle Prison. Why a prison you ask? Because it's said to be one of the most haunted places in all of Western Australia aside from the Fremantle Art Center, which I also visited. Below is my brief story of that visit, along with some pretty convincing photographic evidence of what appears to be a ghost on one of my pictures...

Fremantle Prison has a long and storied history. A lot of what I'm going to share can coincide with the photos I have pasted below..

Fremantle Prison was built in the 1850's by Brit ish convicts sent down to Australia by the government. At that time, British prisons were horribly overcrowded, and in order to remove some of the stress of overcrowding, Britain decided that the best way to keep the prisons at an 'acceptable' amount of people, would be to ship some of them down to Australia--and in particular, Fremantle. Since it seemed people did not want to volunteer to move to Australia, Britain was going to force the outback to be populated one way or another.

The British government wisely decided they would hand pick the convicts they would ship to Australia. This included only convicts that had any skills to bring to the new colony--like  architects, masons, tradesmen, mathematicians, and other skilled laborers that a growing colony needed.

In the photo above, I just did a random shot of Section 1 in the prison. The story here was that a prisoner threw himself off of the fourth floor and fell to his death. There were a few orbs in this photo and a few people have commented on a shadow person located in front of the electric box. It seems as though the person is standing with his hands behind his back and facing the left. I've added a sketch to illustrate what someone pointed out.

Surprisingly, only 44 people were executed here. The image below is the room where men were hanged. There really wasn't a bad feeling or anything in this room when I was there. I felt nothing. Not the usual heavy feeling that I normally get when I go into a haunted location.

Overall, I think the tour of the prison was great and the guide was really interesting. There are three different tours you can take. One of the tours takes you through underground passages where you crawl and paddle a canoe. I would highly suggest one of the paranormal shows to go here as we were told that it is a very active place.
