This story was told to me by a teenager who had played with a Ouija Board one night. Since then, he claims to be tormented in his dreams by beasts and otherworldly creatures. Unfortunately, his story is similar to many others that have dabbled with a Ouija Board.
The Ouija Board is an occult device designed to contact spirit entities that have either passed on from this world or are born of the spirit realm like Angels and demons. People use this board for different reasons. Some use it specifically to gain knowledge from the beings they seek to contact, hoping gain various information on such matters as career, relationships, or the afterlife. Often people are amazed at some of the things that are revealed to them through the board, things that those who are present would have no way of knowing. Still some skeptics believe that the board is just "a bit of harmless fun", "a game", not realizing the dangerous spiritual implications involved.
Most of us know of the Ouija Board, the story and use of a Ouija board is not life changing news. What I want to add, is I don't believe it is the Ouija that is the problem, but rather it is just a tool used to focus your mind and open it up to the things of the other side. In the same way, a 'Ghost Box' , 'Franks Box', or 'Hack Box' serve the same purpose as a Ouija Board. They allow you to focus your mind through questions to spirits in hopes of hearing an answer through the box.
I have an acquaintance that has built himself a 'Ghost Box' using a radio he bought at Radio Shack. This box cycles through all the AM bandwidths continually. The noise coming from the speakers, to me, is just a bunch of radio static and noises as it passes a station. Moving on, he went and used this instrument in an old cemetery on the North Side of Dayton. He chose this spot as it was a place that he has recorded many EVPs. He went on to explain that he asked the same questions as usual when starting an investigation. The 'Is anyone there?', 'Can you speak into this box so I can hear you?' type questions. He stated he was getting a response from something out there. What had scared him were some pointed questions he asked the entity he was speaking with:
"Were you ever alive?"
"Always Alive"
"I mean, were you ever human, in flesh?"
"No Human"
"What are you?"
"Demon"
During these questions, he said he felt a pressure in his head, almost like sinus pressure, along with a feeling of emptiness. Just as the word 'Demon' came over the box, he states he saw a figure out the corner of his eye, when he looked, it was gone.
Stories like my friends, only further my warning about the new rage in paranormal study, the 'Ghost Box'. Just like the Ouija Board, the 'Ghost Box' can open yourself up to things that are purely evil. Take my warning and be careful with the things that you use when trying to explore the spirit realm. If you still insist on using them, at least protect yourself. Lastly, if you have used these 'tools' and feel like you are being haunted or oppressed by a demon or other entity, consult a preacher or demonologist.
