While in the Mansfield, OH area this week, I decided to take a short trip over to the Ohio Reformatory. The reformatory was built in 1896 by architect Levi Scofield.   This huge stone structure was intended to look like a European castle, and I will admit, it has a creepy, medeival feel when you first see it driving up the entry lane. The abandoned prison features the largest free standing steel cellblock in the world. And, it also features ghosts, too. Lots of them...

Objects can be haunted too—just ask John Zaffis, who has amassed and stored over a thousand such items in his Paranormal Museum in Strafford, Connecticut. A paranormal investigator for nearly four decades, he’s now the star of his own Syfy series, Haunted Collector, which takes him around the country helping folks whose lives are disrupted by haunted items in their homes. The genial ghostly object hunter shared stories about his cases, methods and experiences with Weirld.com.

It started off as any other night, till we decided to play with the Ouija Board. There were 6 of us all gathered around this game, trying to contact something from the other side. A lost friend, parent, celebrity, we didn't care who, just someone that would make the board move. It started with the simple questions, 'Is anyone there?', 'Can you speak to us?', etc. After a few short minutes, we were getting responses and talking to something. Everything seemed great till one friend saw a door to another room open a little bit.…

Speaking in an interview in the Sunday Mercury Oliver Robins, who played Robbie Freeling in the 'Poltergeist' films, claims that he himself grew up in a haunted house. He told the paper how until the age of seven he lived in a New York townhouse built in the 1870s where he often heard strange footsteps and felt a “presence”. Sadly, the actors who played his siblings in the film Heather O'Rourke (Carrie Anne Freeling) and Dominique Dunne (Dana Freeling) have both died. Dunne was murdered by her abusive partner shortly after filming and O'Rourke died…

A school in Pune, India has shut its doors until Monday following an incident in which a boy claimed to have seen a ghost emerging from the blackboard. At the Lady Halima Begum Urdu Primary School panicked students fled the building after the sighting. Teacher Parvika Khan was teaching an Urdu on the 7th March and asked the boy to read from the blackboard. The teacher has described how the child looked at the board, claimed it was blank and ran away saying he’d seen an “egg-shaped ghost”.

I have been caught in this personal struggle to understand Ghosts. Having a Christian upbringing and belief, I have struggled in trying to define the paranormal. Yes, through my Christian belief, I believe in Heaven and Hell, Angels and Demons, but those are topics for another time. I want to focus on just on what a ghost is.

I apologize for the lack of content, I have been a bit 'under the weather' lately. I was browsing around Ebay and found an auction for a haunted painting.  A painting the artist painted during a rough time in their life.  In fact, the seller wrote this: "I am an Artist and professional Healer, Channel and Spiritualist.  I NEED TO GET THIS PAINTING OUT OF MY HOUSE!!  I was in a bad way when i painted it and although i loved it when it was finished and have kept it for myself for about 6…

As in my previous articles, I wanted to begin with tales from of Tennessee’s universities. East Tennessee State University is said to be the most haunted school in Tennessee and all of the south for that matter. I am not going to cover every ghostly report I have received from students there, but I wanted to go over a couple of my favorites.

Of all the states in the Upper South, Kentucky can lay claim to being the most haunted. There are hundreds of stories from around the state of spooky lights, shadow people, disembodied cries, and everything else paranormal you can think of.  Many of the places have been investigated by numerous paranormal groups, all coming out with their own 'evidence' of the paranormal.

Today is my 30th Birthday and I wanted to write a post with it being so close to Halloween. My final trip to paranormal places in Australia ended at Fremantle Arts Center last month. Fremantle Arts Center, used to be an Asylum, Midwife Training Center, WW2 US Base, and College. It's now an  art gallery. I went there with the intention of doing some sort of investigation, but to my surprise, they were holding an art exhibition there. Since I have a background in art, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to visit. So,  I…

I want to first apologize for not getting these posted earlier this week, but my oldest son fell ill and spent some time in the hospital. Not to worry though, he is home and much better now. Thank you for all the prayers. Let’s move on to some of the scary, ghostly things that happen in Indiana. I have been on a University haunting kick lately, so lets start with my favorite Catholic University..Notre Dame. Washington Hall, in the middle of the Notre Dame campus is said to be haunted by the legendary college football…

Moving back to my home state, I have taken up studying some of the scary tales and other events that have occurred here. With it being close to Halloween, I wanted to share some of these stories with you. Since I have an affinity for Ghostly Tales at Universities, see my previous article on Ohio University and the Ridges, I want to begin with a tale from Central Michigan University and Warriner Hall. In 1937, CMU was still Central State Teacher's College. Warriner Hall had borne the name of then-President Warriner for ten years (in…
