The Sky Fish Phenomenon

A rather new entry into the paranormal is that of ‘Sky Fish’ or rather Rods. These are creatures that cannot be seen with the naked eye. Yet, there are miles of film footage that show a creature darting about through the sky that looks like a little squiggly mark. To take it to a very literal meaning, these are small UFO’s. What could these things possibly be?

From the research I have done, Sky Fish are insects, or bugs rather, that move through the air at speeds of 900mph. Some scientists claim that these bugs have rod shaped bodies, which is where the term ‘Rods’ comes from. They are measured at lengths of 3 inches to 3 feet. One of the only ways to observe these creatures is through the use of video cameras. On camera, Sky Fish appear as rods with undulating fins on either side, much like the fins of a squid. They are mainly caught on camera in the United States and Japan. The Japanese believe that they can be caught with a net.

According to Wikipedia: "They are said to be creatures which flit about in the air at such a high speed as to not be seen by the naked eye. However, rods appear to be observational artifacts produced by rapidly flying animals. Practically all sightings of rods are based on video evidence, due to the propensity of video cameras to produce characteristic stroboscopic artifacts when imaging rapidly flying animals, especially insects, but also including birds. Their recent popularity seems to be a result of media exposure in television and in tabloids."

Sky Fish have been featured on TV specials like Monsterquest, in tabloids, and even in video games. Do Sky Fish really move so quickly through the air that they cannot be seen? An analysis of human vision tells us that a Sky Fish would need to move between 100 and 500 mph to be invisible to the human eye - depending on its length and opacity. No bird or insect flies at this rate for extended periods of time, though some birds, such as the Peregrine falcon, do reach speeds of 240 mph on steep dives.

There is a large difference of opinions about Sky Fish and their existence. Many scientists will look back at the MonsterQuest evidence that was captured. There was a high speed camera and a regular camera filming an area known to have ‘Sky Fish’. The normal camera captured what looked to be a rod in the area. When the high speed camera was reviewed it captured the same creature. It turns out the creature was nothing more than a moth. Check out the video’s below and I will let you be the judge….
