Monsters have always captured my imagination. I am an avid King Kong and Godzilla fan. My love of these mythical creatures has led me to research some of the more accepted, could be real, modern day monsters like Sasquatch, Nessie, and Bessie. My absolute favorite is Sasquatch, aka Bigfoot. My first memory and exposure to Bigfoot, came from the Leonard Nimoy hosted TV show, 'In Search Of'.

It seems the popularity of Bigfoot rises and falls as often as the tide waters. Right now, Bigfoot is in an upswing with the release of the almost famous iPhone video captured by a young lady in Spokane, WA. 'Samantha', as she names herself in the media, claims she was hiking through the woods with friends and filming with her camera phone. She did not realize that she had captured a Bigfoot on the video until that night when she was reviewing the footage. Take a look for yourself:

I have my own reservations about this video. First one is why does Bigfoot only appear in low-res video? Secondly, why does it appear as though Bigfoot is running away. As an animal, you would think that it would stay down and hidden until the hikers were past or if it felt threatened, I would assume it would attack. Maybe I'm wrong, this was filmed in the Pacific Northwest where the Bigfeet are almost docile, unlike the eastern counterpart found in Ohio that is highly aggressive. Again, that's only my opinion.

One interesting correlation I found is that the filming of the 'Samantha' Bigfoot is almost 15 years to the day after the infamous 1996 Memorial Day Bigfoot running film. The 1996 film gained notoriety by the work of the Syfy TV series Fact or Faked: Paranormal Files. They tried to recreate the below video of Bigfoot running across a hillside. I'll let you watch the rerun to see what the Fact or Faked team concluded.

As I stated earlier, Bigfoot is my absolute favorite cryptid. I have been out stomping the woods, knocking on trees and trying to find signs of Bigfoot for over a decade. As new information arises about Bigfoot, you can count on Weirld to bring it to you.
